• 1st Quarter---Expository Essay
• 2nd Quarter---Formal Business Letter
• 3rd Quarter---Persuasive Essay
• 4th Quarter---Narrative (Autobiographical, Letter
  of Introduction, Graduation Letter)
• Over-all score of 3 or 4 will
• earn 0.5 English credit

• 5 paragraph format
• Strong Introduction---attention getter!
• Divided thesis (three ideas)
• Three paragraph body
• Conclusion ---restate the thesis from the
