Background

• Roles introduced in response to EM and the Labour
  Market report by the Cabinet Office
• To assist in the reduction of a long term static
  gap of 16 between BME groups and the white
  population
• Additional specialist resource to support
  Districts to do this

• Promoting the value of workplace diversity in
  terms of Race
• Increase work and training placements for Ethnic
  Minorities
• Enable employers to develop and implement
  policies to recruit, retain and develop a diverse
  workforce

Key Activities

• To reduce the unemployment in BME groups by
  working in the 11 ME wards in Birmingham
  Solihull District
• To act as change agents enabling employers to see
  the business potential of a diverse workforce
• To assist employers to make changes to
  recruitment policies to enable them to tap into
  the BME talent pool

• Work with communities to identify barriers to
  employment
• Increase work and training opportunities for BME
  communities
• To communicate employment opportunities to enable
  communities to compete for employment
  opportunities at all levels
• To consult with communities to fact find and
  manage expectations
