Plan for Question 1 Level 1 Simple statements
taking the Source at face value, e.g. It doesnt
say or it says they were given permission to go
through all the realm of England (13)
  Level 2 Developed statements making
inferences from the Source, pointing out the
weaknesses of the Source or setting the Source in
context, e.g. Students make the link between the
phrase, Because of this grant and what the King
said in the previous paragraph. Students may spot
the ambiguity of the statement and link this to
the provenance of the source. (46)

Paragraph 1 Explain what you learned about how
the peasants got into the Tower of London by
reading this source. Non-violent entry. King gave
permission. Quote Peasants wanted Archbishop.
Paragraph 2 Explain that according to source 1
the King also made a condition. bring them to
him in safety and then he would deal with them as
the law demanded. Explain that this might mean
that they were allowed to go into the Tower but
not to Kill. On the other hand, the author might
just have put that in so that the king didn't
look like he had betrayed his advisors. Doesnt
say why King allowed this.
Paragraph 3 Say who source writeen by and if
reliable. King allowed peasants in but the
peasants abused this grnat and did not carry out
Kings wished. Explain why.

Archbishops presence. No mention of resistance
    form guard.
  • King announced they should be free have whatever
eanted go through realm to catch all traitors
  • Not clear why King said this really trust them
scared get them off his back to go home and
    cruelly put down later.
  • Peasants went in there to get Archbishop. Not say
    why.
  • No. King told them to bring to him in safety
traitors for king to deal with as law demanded.
    Why
