PGL Holidays

• UKs leading provider of activity courses and
  holidays for schools, colleges, youth groups
• Established in 1957 and now part of the Education

• 25 centres spread across the UK, France and
  Spain.
• PGL provides outdoor education courses, activity
  holidays, cultural tours and ski trips for over
  250,000 children each year.

Itinerary

• Day 1 Leave Kingshill at 9.15 am
• Sculpture Trail walk and picnic
• Arrive Whitemead at 1.15 pm
• Tour of site then first activity
• Dinner at 6.00 pm
• Evening activity at 7.30 pm
• In rooms at 9.30 pm, lights out at 10 pm

• Day 2 Rise and shine at 7.30 am
• Breakfast at 8.00 am followed by
• 2 lots of activities from 9.30 am to 12.30
  pm
• Lunch
• 2 activities then dinner at 6.00pm
• Evening activity at 7.30 pm
• In rooms at 9.30 pm, lights out at 10 pm

• Breakfast at 8.00 am followed by last
  activity then certificates and awards
  ceremony
• Lunch at 12.30 pm
• Coach departs for Kingshill at 1.15 pm
• Arrive Kingshill by 3.00 pm

Security

• Centre staff patrol the area outside the pupil
  bedrooms after lights out.
• From 11pm until 7am a full time security guard is
  on duty.
• Between 9.30 pm and 7 am students should only
  leave their rooms to go the loo.
• Students should not come outside between 9.30 pm
  and 7 am unless the fire alarm goes off or a
  member of staff tells them to go outside.
• Anyone breaking these simple rules can expect to
  be sent home

• Full English Breakfast plus toast and cereals
• For lunch and dinner a meat and a vegetarian
  option, or a salad

• Each group stays with one member of PGL staff
• Day activities
• Abseiling, Blind Trail, Survival, Swimming,
  Fencing, Orienteering
• Evening activities
• Giant Cluedo and Its a Knockout

Standard of behaviour

• Primary concern is everyones safety
• Follow instructions of Whitemead staff
• Courtesy and politeness

Equipment List

• Bedding is provided
• Something other than jeans for activities
• Long trousers and sleeves needed for many
  activities
• Waterproofs and sunscreen

Medication

• Students who need them must carry inhalers.
• Students who take medication should label it with
  clear instructions as to when and how much to
  take and give it to their tutor unless they have
  arranged otherwise with me.
• For any pupils with health plans lodged in
  school, all staff on the trip will be made aware
  of their needs.
• Please speak to your childs tutor if you have
  any concerns.

What Not To Take

• No mobile phones. You will be given details of
  how to contact the centre in an emergency and
  there is a pay phone if your child really needs
  to hear your voice.
• No PSPs, DVD players, IPODs, MP3s or mobile
  phones, we cant take responsibility if they are
  lost.
• No expensive cameras they can so easily get lost
  or damaged. Better to take a disposable.
