Gender Equality in Humanitarian Action
  • Gender equality, or equality between women and
    men, consists of equal enjoyment by women and men
    of socially-valued goods, opportunities,
    resources and rewards. Equality does not mean
    that men and women are the same but that their
    opportunities will not depend on their sex.
  • The UN Charter reaffirms the equal rights of men
    and women.
