Why Scantrons

• You will notice the questions are primarily the
  same only organized a little different.
• The technology change is to help increase the
  speed and efficiency in evaluating the programs
  impact on the participant.

Evaluation is critical

• It proves that the program is successful,
• It documents program activities,
• It documents the positive impact of the program,
• And it justifies funding should be continued and
  possibly increased.

You are a critical part of that process

Instruction on handling

• A bundle of scantrons will be supplied to your
  agencies. The number can be requested by using
  the Material Order Forms
• You must use the scantron forms supplied they
  cannot be duplicated.

Take special care of the scantrons

• In order to send the information through the
  machine you have to take special care of them.
• Do not fold, bend, or staple the forms.
• Protect from moisture place in a folder to
  assure they are protected from rain or spills.
• Ladies watch for nail polish marks.

Prepping for the use of Scantrons

• Pack ample supply of No. 2 pencils already
  sharpened or provide a sharpener on-site.
• Designate on your agenda when scantrons are to be
  completed.
• Have a volunteer or someone in the office
  pre-complete the internal data that links the
  information to the training you provide
• date of the survey
• site location, and
• the first part of the survey ID (YR, Project
  Code) on both the first and second page, prior to
  the training.
• Place scantrons in a folder for easy transport
  and to protect them from moisture.

Instructions to give to participants

• Use a No. 2 pencil only to complete the form
• Select only one answer and fill in only one
  bubble for each question
• Make sure you fill in the bubble completely
• If you want to change your answer completely
  erase your first answer and fill in the bubble
  for the new answer. (Do not erase so hard as to
  make a hole in the sheet)

• For Date of Survey fill in the two digit month,
  then the two digit date, and then the four digit
  year
• Site Location is the number assigned to your
  agency see listing provided

• Survey ID number is a nine digit code i.e.,
  091741234
• First two number year 09
• The next three digits denotes the project code
• 174 for Homebuyers program
• 268 for Education program
• 325 for Small Business program
• Last four number are the last four numbers of the
  participants social security number

• The survey id number 091741234 must be copied to
  the second sheet of the homebuyers survey form.
• Do not bend fold or staple the paper
• Make sure you turn in the form to get credit for
  the course
• It should take only 5 minutes to complete the
  Financial Education Survey and Less than 10
  minutes for the Home Buyers Survey

Review scantrons while participant is there

• Check to make sure the Survey ID number is the
  same on the 1st and 2nd page. (If you did not
  complete the form in advance.)
• Check the bubbles are completely filled in for
  each question.
• Check that only one bubble per question is
  filled.

Submitting scantrons to SU-IDA

• Make copies of the scantron and include in the
  participants folder for your records.
• Mail scantrons the same day the training is held
  to
