  • In class we have begun to read a book called
Maroo of the Winter Caves written by Ann
Turnbull. It is about a girl in her early teens
named Maroo. Maroo has a lot in common with a
native girt named Karana in a story called
Island of the Blue Dolphins. Both of the girls
live in tribes and in both stories they make
jewelry out of shells and beads. There tribes
    are different in several ways.
