Legislative Reform Local Government Bill
  • LGMA has proposed 23 amendments 19 of which
    Minister will support
  • Clause 12(3)(a) will be amended to
  • clarify that directions from a Mayor to a CEO
    must be in accordance with council policy and
  • clarify the Mayors responsibility for ensuring
    the CEOs performance appraisal is carried out,
    and that the form of the appraisal may be decided
    by the local government.

  • Amendment of clauses 122 123 to provide
    specific criteria for the suspension or dismissal
    of a councillor and for the dissolution of a
    local government
