• Interagency and Inter-departmental Organization
• Established by DOI/USDA MOU in 1976
• Comprised of Federal Fire Directors and
  representatives from NASF, Research, and the
  Inter-tribal Timber Council
• Membership includes FS, BLM, BIA, NPS, FWS,
  NASF, ITC (FEMA, DOD, NFPA)

• To provide a coordinating environment for
  interagency IRM initiatives
• To provide consistent management of NWCG IRM
  assets

  and distribution of standards, lessons learned,
  and other IRM best business practices
• Provides the field with information about
  collateral IRM efforts and initiatives
• Establishes a data management strategy
• Establishes and manages a portfolio of wildland
  fire applications
• Establishes a repository of project deliverables
• (charters, project plans, data models, system and
  user documentation)
