Personal Development Framework
  • What is it?
  • Its a structure for the development of all
    members of the firm
  • Do you mean me?
  • Yes, this applies to everyone in the firm

4
Personal Development Framework
  • What do I get out of it?
  • You will get a Skills Profile and a clear
understanding of how you can progress in your
    role

5
  • What is a Skills Profile?
  • It is a document that sets out two things
  • Your role
  • The skills you need to perform your role
  • What kind of skills do you mean?
  • There are three types of Core Skill Technical,
    Commercial and Personal Skills.
  • Each Core Skills area has other skills listed
  • within it.

6
  • So Ill have a list of core skills needed in my
    role. Anything else?
  • Yes, each skill has an expected outcome and
    evidence to support it.

7
  • For example?
  • Personal Skill Working in teams
  • Outcome Fruitful and constructive working
relationships within and outside the firm
  • Evidence Positive feedback from colleagues,
    clients and third parties

8
  • How will I know if I have these skills to the
    required standards?
  • Everyone will have a Performance Development
Review (formerly known as an appraisal)
  • So I will not have an appraisal?
  • You will have a performance development review
instead. This looks at how you are performing in
    your skills areas

9
  • What if I need help to develop my skills?
  • The firm will support you and by providing an
appropriate form of learning and development.
  • You mean training?
  • This will depend on what you need. We are
creating a new learning and development programme
which will offer you the most suitable form of
development, linked closely with your Skills
    Profile.

10
  • So the Personal Development Framework is linked
to the Performance Development Review and the
    firms Learning and Development Programme?
  • Yes
