• Why use tools?

Why use tools?

• Bible is old
• Parts as old as 4000 years
• Written in a foreign language
• Hebrew
• Greek
• Tools can help us get back to what the writer
  intended
• They can also help us eliminate corruptions that
  have crept in over the years ????

Cross references

• Example, we have shown Luke 1 v.3133 from the
  New King James Bible to show exactly how to use
  cross references.
• In verse 32, if you wonder what is the throne of
  his father David? See 2Samuel 7 v.1417, Acts 2
  v.33 and Acts 7 v.55.

Concordances

• An alphabetical listing of almost all the words
  in the Bible, giving the original Hebrew or Greek
  words, together with their literal meaning and
  transliteration (the original word expressed in
  English letters).
• A concordance is useful when trying to locate a
  verse when you can only remember just a phrase or
  word

• Use a concordance to find a phrase you cant
  entirely remember, or to find the meaning of a
  word.
• Exercise, use the concordances provided to find
  where this phrase is written

• Its an agreement between two parties
• Exodus 1920
• Ch193-6 Then Moses went up to God, and the LORD
  called to him from the mountain and said, "This
  is what you are to say to the house of Jacob and
  what you are to tell the people of Israel

Why two Testaments?

• Exodus 201-17 the commandments
• Leviticus 253 'If you follow my decrees and
  are careful to obey my commands, 4 I will send
  you rain in its season, and the ground will yield
  its crops and the trees their fruit.
• 14 " 'But if you will not listen to me and carry
  out all these commands, then I will do this to
  you I will bring on you sudden terror, wasting
  diseases and fever that will destroy your sight
  and sap your strength. You will plant seed in
  vain, because your enemies will eat it.

About the two testaments/covenants

• Jeremiah 3131 - "The time is coming," declares
  the LORD , "when I will make a new covenant with
  the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
• Galatians 319 - What, then, was the purpose of
  the law? It was added because of transgressions
  until the Seed to whom the promise referred had
  come.
• V24 - So the law was put in charge of us until
  Christ came that we might be justified by faith

• Jesus was also the manifestation of God. He was
  the only begotten Son of God. Jesus himself said,
  "He who has seen me hath seen the Father."
