6How can I keep track of what my student is doing
in class and monitor grades?
- The best way to keep track of your students
nightly homework requirements is to monitor their
student agenda. The agenda provides a calendar
area where students are encouraged to list
homework and other important reminders for their
(and yours) organizational benefit. If you have
difficulty in convincing your child to fill in
their agenda, set up a consequence and rewards
system and hold to your expectations. It is not
difficult for students to take 30 seconds during
class to write their assignments down. - Access information of upcoming quizzes/tests,
deadlines, and important announcements by
visiting the team/teacher individual web page and
access the Weekly Planner/Flyer. - Special Note Planners/Flyers will normally
NOT list daily assignments. This is the
beginning of your student taking responsibility
of organizing deadlines and completion dates.
Great to assist with organization. - Accessing Weekly Flyers information the following
page. -
7How can I keep track of what my student is doing
in class and monitor grades?
- Weekly planners are posted on teacher websites
and generally include all core subjects for the
particular team. WebPages are accessible from
the staff list page by clicking on the teachers
name. These give good information for upcoming
tests/quizzes etc. They do not necessarily list
specific nightly homework assignments. Student
agendas should be used for daily homework
listings. http//www.yorktown.k12.in.us/YMS/YMSsta
