UCE PLACEMENTS MODULE

• Compulsory 12 credit module for all students
  choosing placements option
• Runs 1st semester of year 2
• 4 x 3 hour workshops
• 9am prompt start, students attend in business
  dress
• Students register for module before end of Year 1

Assessment

• 2 x short written assignments
• Application form 25
• CV cover letter 25
• (CV must be signed off by office prior to
  submission)
• Mock Assessment Centre 50
• Evidence of 10 applications
• (or have found a placement)

ASSESSMENT CENTRE

• External venue
• 4 days (each student attends 1 day)
• Up to 80 students per day
• Staffed by volunteers from industry (approx 20
  assessors each day)
• Interview
• Online aptitude test
• Group exercise
• Presentation

• Chance to experience recruitment activities
• Written feedback provided within 2 weeks
• Opportunity to discuss possible placement
  opportunities
• with employers placement staff
• Staff build relationships with employers
  students
