CherryPy Robert Brewer

• Multi-threaded object publishing framework,
  similar (IMO) to Zope/Quixote concepts.
• Contains standalone Web server embraced WSGI
  good tutorials.

TurboGears Kevin Dangoor

• Around since early 2005 integrates CherryPy,
  SQLObject (O/R), Kid (templating), MochiKit
  (JavaScript).
• Several thousand people on mailing list (1400 as
  of a year ago).

twisted/Nevow Duncan McGreggor

• Rewrite of Woven Nevow originally written by
  Donovan Preston.
• Templating semantics borrow ideas from Quixote,
  ZPT, and XMLC (from the Enhydra project).
• Contains an Object Publishing framework similar
  to Zope.

Zope Jim Fulton

• One of (the?) oldest full Python Web frameworks
  based on Python Object Publisher (1996) -gt
  Principia -gt Zope 1998). Also DTML (templating
  language) and Zope Object DB.
• Zope3 (2004) dramatically improves framework
  increases Python friendliness WSGI (2006).
• At least 100,000 deployed Zope sites.
• Over 100 developers working on Zope, 30 active.

Django Adrian Holovaty

• One of the two most popular recently new
  frameworks (see also TurboGears).
• Evolved out of a news site CMS.
• Tightly integrated but loosely coupled. (I
  expect a T-shirt!)
• WGWD.

Pylons Ben Bangert

• New framework utilizing WSGI componentology.
• Plays well with others
• 600 people on the mailing list
• Dont go to Pylons.org
• Pylon Appreciation Society is a club for people
  who appreciate electricity pylons.

• Lets you build AJAX applications in Python, much
  like Google Web Toolkit lets you do, but in
  Python, not Java.
