WV Content and State Objectives

things, including their systems and explain their
functions (e.g., roots absorb water, circulatory
    system to move materials).
  • SC.3.4.3 compare physical characteristics and
behaviors of living organisms and explain how
they are adapted to a specific environment (e.g.,
beaks and feet in birds, seed dispersal,
    camouflage, different types of flowers).
  • SC.3.4.4 observe and describe relationships among
organisms in an ecosystem (e.g., sequencing food
    chains, behavior, adaptations, factors that
    effect populations, predator-prey relationships).
  • SC.3.3.2 use models as representations of real
    things.

  • Will demonstrate how sonar works by using water,
overhead projector, glass pie plate, and eye
    dropper

the ocean by using sonar to track detect and
    locate objects underwater.

8
Day 5
  • Class demonstration of how oil spills work by
using oil, water, and cocoa powder to show how
oil spills can stay on top of water
  • The effects of oil spills on the ocean and the
    creatures that live there
  • Also talk about other types of pollution

9
Learner Participation
