Click on AutoCAD
- Master of Science Degree in Industrial Training
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Vocational
Industrial Training - Associate of Science Degree in Industrial
Engineering Technology - Associate of Applied Science Degree in
Pre-Engineering
3Select Advanced Setup
4Select Decimal Units
5Set the Precisions to 0.000
6Select Decimal Degrees for the Angle
7Select East for the Angle Measurement
8Select Counter Clockwise for the Angle Direction
9Enter 11 for the width and 8.5 for the
LengthThen click on the sheet of paper before
clicking on the Finish button.
10At the command prompt at the bottom type in the
command grid and set the spacing to 0.25
11You can hit the F2 key and this text box will
appear.
12Type in the Snap command and enter 0.25.
13Type in the Snap command and enter 0.25.

14Click on Format then Layers
15Click on New to create new layers such as
Border Object Hidden Center Text
16Select the Linetype, then load. Then select the
center and hidden linetypes.
17The Layers dialog box should now look like this.
18Click on Format them Lineweight, duplicate the
following setting shown below.
19Click on Format them Text Style, duplicate the
following setting shown below.
20Click on Format them Dimension Style Manager,
then click on modify.
21Click on the Text tab and make the following
changes.
22Click on View then Toolbars near the bottom.
Place and X next to Dimension, Draw and Modify.
You should now have floating toolbars.
23Your screen should now look like this.
24Change from Layer 0 to Border Layer.
Change to Border Layer
25Draw a border as show. Make sure your grid and
snap commands are turned on.
Thirdly go to 10.75, 8.25
Finally, go to .25, 8.25, then type in C to
close
Change to Border Layer
Start at .25, .25
Second go to 10.75, .25
26Type in the command Offset then enter .375.
27Move the cursor to the upper side of the line.
28Use the Offset command again to create 1.5
spaces as shown.
29Use the Offset command again to create 3 space
as shown.
30Use the Trim command to trim off the lines
above the title block.
31Change from Border to Text Layer

Switch to Text Layer
33Type in Mtext command. Window from the lower left
hand corner of the left box and drag unto the
upper right hand corner of the left box.
Switch to Text Layer
34In the Multiline Text Editor enter DATE 22Jan07.
Then click on the Properties tab and select
Middle Center in the Justification box.
Switch to Text Layer
35Type in Mtext and repeat for the second box as
shown.
Switch to Text Layer
36Type in Mtext and repeat for the third box as
shown.

37Type in Z for zoom then A for all and your
screen should look like this.

38Type in Mtext and repeat for the fourth box as
shown. Use you full name though.

39Type in Mtext and repeat for the fifth box as
shown.

40Type in Z for zoom then A for all and your
screen should look like this.

41Click on File then Save As. Save your drawing
in a directory/folder that you previously
created. Name the drawing CAD100-01
Switch to Text Layer
42Use the offset command to offset the left
vertical line 2.5 to the right as shown below.
Switch to Text Layer
43Click on the new line as shown then go to the
layer box and select the object layer. All of the
object properties will be transferred to the new
line.

44Using the offset command offset the lines from
left to right using the following spaces 0.5,
1, 0.5, 2, 0.5, 0.5, and 0.5 so that your
drawing looks like this.

45Use the offset command to offset the bottom
horizontal line 1.0625 above as shown below.

46Using the offset command offset the lines from
bottom to top using the following spaces 0.5,
0.5, 0.2, 2, 0.5, 0.5, and 0.5 so that your
drawing looks like this.

47Use the trim command to trim of all lines not
needed. Remember to window from right to left
first.
Switch to Text Layer
48Zoom in around the orthographic drawings. Set
your grid to .25 and your snap to .125.
Switch to Text Layer
49Dimension as shown below.

50Type in Z for zoom then A for all and your
screen should look like this. Save and print your
drawing.
