Virtuoso performer Rajeev Taranath is one of
India's top classical instrumentalists and one of
its leading exponents of the sarod, the richly
resonant and lyrical relative of the lute. He is
the recipient of India's highest government award
in the arts from The Sangeet Natak Akademi in
1999 for outstanding achievement in Hindustani
instrumental music. From 1995-2005 he directed
the Indian music program at the California
Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles. He has
received critical acclaim with stellar reviews in
the Indian and international press for
performances at prestigious music organizations
