Notification Procedures

  • Attachment 4 of CAPR 62-2 lists reportable
    injuries.
  • Non-reportable injuries will be logged by safety
    officer. CAPF 78 not required.

  • Bodily Injury
  • Injury Is A Personal Injury Resulting From Fall,
    Slip, Being Struck, Sport Injury, Etc.
  • Property Damage
  • Mishap Associated With Aircraft Or Vehicles

Accident Reporting
  • Report Accident Causing Injury, Fatality, Or
    Major Property Damage. See Attachments 4 5,
    CAPR 62-2
  • Submit CAPF 78 Within 48 Hours Following Mishap
  • When Applicable-Submit CAPF 79 To Arrive At
    National Headquarters Within 34 Days

Accident Investigation
  • Often conducted by non CAP entity.
  • Corporate Legal Counsel must approve CAP
    investigation involving death or serious
    injuries.
  • Wing Commanders are responsible for accident
    investigation. They may appoint a board of three
    or more members.

  • CAPF 26 To
  • Recommend Improvement Measures
  • Report Unsafe Conditions, Equipment, Practices,
    Rules, Etc.
  • FAA Form 8740-5, Safety Improvement Report
  • Used To Suggest Improvements To General Aviation
