6Civil Air Patrol Safety Contract As a member of
Civil Air Patrol, I understand the importance
that a safety culture plays in the protection
of the health and welfare of our members, our
valuable resources and our mission readiness. In
CAP, safety first is not a box we check off
before operations, it is THE way we must operate.
Ensuring safety first across CAP Air, Ground,
Facilities, and Personal operations takes a
concerted effort by every member involved to
ensure the safety of CAP operations while getting
the mission accomplished. To do my part I agree
and commit to apply common sense, follow CAP
regulatory guidance, and manage risk using the
principles of Operational Risk Management during
all my activities in CAP. Specifically, I pledge
to - Comply with the guidance in CAPR 62-1,
Safety Responsibilities and Procedures. - Comply
with additional guidance in the following, as my
CAP participation requires -- CAPR 60-1,
Flight Management -- CAPR 60-3, Emergency
Services Training and Operational Missions --
CAPR 62-2, Mishap Reporting and
Investigation -- CAPR 66-1, Aircraft
Maintenance Management -- CAPR 76-1, Travel via
Military Aircraft and use of Military Facilities
Vehicles -- CAPR 77-1, Operation and
Maintenance of CAP Vehicles - Foster a Safe
Environment by -- Identifying any associated
hazards, assessing the risk, and eliminating or
reducing the risk to an acceptable level,
before every CAP activity. -- Ensuring trained,
responsible CAP members supervise CAP
activities -- Staying trained, current and
qualified, and fully preparing for every CAP
activity -- Be a responsible steward of CAP
resources by treating CAP resources as if they
were my own and keeping CAP equipment
mission-ready. I understand that violating these
guidelines may bring severe penalties, including
fines and permanent separation from the Civil Air
Patrol, as described in CAP Regulations. CAP
