Local Arrangement Committee Update

• Contracted with IEEE CMS for project management
  and local arrangements planning
• Reduced room block at hotels with attrition
• Still holding gtIMS2005 actuals
• Looking a plan to direct attendees to additional
  hotels
• Busing?? Most hotels close enough but may need
  limited plan
• Food costs are an issue
• Done an initial cut with real menus
• Meeting room allocation with be difficult
• Especially on Tuesday (Plenary, OF, IMS, RFIC,
  panels, )
• Meals , short events (less than 2 hours) likely
  to be at Marriott

• Horizon House has signed CC contract
• South Hall 260,650 sq ft, Hall A,B,C
• Presentation areas total 61,050 sq ft
• Esplanade Level - 42,750 sq ft
• Mezzanine Level - 18,300 sq ft

Technical Activities Committee Update

• Re-named TAC to avoid confusion with TPC
• CFP done distributed at IMS2005 and on web site
• 32 subject areas, some revamping of previous
  structure
• Developing a TPC selection process
• presently collecting information
• Will be using Pond's system for paper submission
• same as 05 07
• TPC meeting at RWS San Diego, January 15,2006
• key dates similar as in past
• Workshop guidelines will be posted soon
• Looking into daily or workshop specific CD-ROM
• More use of e-mail, fewer surface mailings
• Only 1 limited physical CFR mailings
• Notification of accept/reject by e-mail only

• Fees up by 3 to 4 over IMS2005 (which had
  smaller increases) or 5 over IMS2004
• Attendance up by 5 over IMS2004, 10 for RFIC
• Non-member fees 50 over member
• On-Site fees 30 over advance
• 800 Exhibits (IMS2004 actual 798)
• F/B -- 30 over IMS2004 actuals
• still concerned if this is enough
• other expenses at or above IMS2004 actuals --
  usually closer to IMS2005 budget
