4Summary
Young people are called to face the challenge of
building a future full of peace and dialogue.
Overcoming the hostility fomented by the past
divisions and by prejudice is the difficult aim
of the action. In order to reach it is important
that young people animate cultural ways of
exchange, also in a dialogue of peer education.
5General objective
- Experimentation of dialogue and intercultural
exchange strategies among young people and
children of the Euromediterranean area, in
particular Israeli, Palestinian and Italian young
people and children.
- Building awareness of human rights
- Encouraging acknowledgement of the common
Mediterranean belonging and roots.
6Specific objectives
- Acknowledgement and welcoming of diversity, of
otherness and of a flexible identity of the
other. - The increased propensity to define ones own
identity without setting it up against others. - The awareness of ones own and others rights as
human beings, at the same time different and
equal.

- 8 young University students - 2 for each of the
four involved towns - 80 young high-school students - for each of the
four involved towns - at least 800 children of primary schools - 200
for each of the four involved towns - Indirect beneficiaries

8Reasons for the selection of this target
- Educational commitment addressed to young
generations is absolutely necessary in order to
build a future of peace and intercultural
dialogue between Israeli, Palestine and Europe. - Young people are more likely to identify with
other young people peer education promotes
tolerance, encourages friendly discussion and
challenges negative stereotypes and attitudes.

- A multimedia space will be active within the
remote education platform of the Education
Consortium Euroqualità for - the sharing of texts and videos
- the availability of a message service
- the carrying out of videoconferences

5-12 March 2006
- Objective
- The seminar wants to provide the staff involved

of the towns) who will act subsequently as peer
educators and videomakers
12Seminar in Turin
- The seminar, held in English language, provides
for - 4 morning sessions for a theorical education on 4
issues intercultural communication, peace
education, euromediterranean culture, peer
education. - 4 afternoon sessions for a practical training on
Committed Theatre and on techniques of
documentation of Committed Theatre performances.
Simulation of a work proposal will be proposed by
a group of young voluntary actors. - 1 morning educational session on use of
multimedia space. - 1 afternoon session aimed at defining the
educational project and at sharing objectives,
development time and form of capitalisation.
13Committed Theatre workshops
February/June 2006
- Carrying out of 4 Committed Theatre workshop with
groups of 20 high-school students (one group for
each town) - 8 modules of 2 weeks held by the drama promoter
and the two young university students (theatre
and video). - Remote support of an Italian drama promoter.
- Production of a video of the relevant phases of
the workshops. - At the end of each module, thanks to the
multimedia platform, the work done in the
different towns will be debated in the multimedia
classrooms. - Exhibitions to be staged in schools and childhood
centres in the involved towns. - Performances which can involve at least 200
children for each town are scheduled.
14Meeting in Gaza
July 2006
- Final meeting in Gaza will give the opportunity
of showing and getting a wider diffusion of the
experience developed among drama operators and
teachers thanks to both the support of the remote
education platform, and the production of a
publication and a cd with a summary video of some
performances of each town.

15Mainstreaming
- Publication of documents regarding the Project,
especially the Committed Theatre workshops. - Carrying out of the publication and of a cd.
- Presentation of the publication in each town in
the presence of local authorities, of the teacher
of every kind of school and of non-governmental
organizations. - Implementation of the internet site of Cicsene
(www.pianetapossibile.it) in the Projects section
with the documentation of the enterprise.
16Methodology
- Through experimentation on expressive means of
the individual, such as body, voice, relationship
with space and with other people, the theatre
workshop is a means of individual and collective
discovery. The artistic and non conventional
expression demanded by a workshop on theatrical
expression leads participants direclty into
mutual confrontation and encourages involvement
into the suggested themes. The final performance
is a way to share the workshops experience.
