A Saskatoon police officer checks the speed of
motorists September 3 in a school zone on Taylor
Street East. Thirty km/h speed zones will remain
in effect around all Saskatoon schools. City
administration had recommended lifting the speed
limit around most high schools, but keeping it in
place for elementary schools. On September 2,
city council passed a motion to keep the speed

Police on McOrmond Road were able to take a break
following a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle.
At one point before the suspect was nabbed near
McOrmond Drive and Highway 5, police deployed a

The Saskatoon Police Service, along with
Saskatchewan Government Insurance, had a roadside
vehicle safety check set up on Highway 7 the week
of September 8. Vehicles were inspected and, if
not deemed road worthy, towed away. Constable
Wendell Barsi, who is trained for these
inspections, rolled under a gravel truck during

Students at two North Park elementary schools,
including North Park Wilson School, were moved to
safe locations September 16 after police
responded to a complaint about a distraught man
at a nearby house. Police said later, however,
that the move was more of a precaution than

Saskatoon Police Service, EMT and Fire and
Protective Services were all on the scene after a
dismembered body was found on the railroad tracks
near the corner of Avenue T South and 17th Street

Emergency personnel clean up after a van rolled
as a result of a two-vehicle accident on
September 23 on Idylwyld Drive north of 71st
Street. A driver was thrown from one of the
vehicles. He and three others were taken to
hospital. Police temporarily blocked roads at the
