Title: The 11th of September

1
The 11th of September
  • The world is full of histories. Every day of
our life stays in the history of the past. But
there are things which are unforgiving and
unforgettable in the book of history. And our
generations will read them in order to know the
past. Because no one can hope to have the future
without knowing the history. Now we want to tell
you a very terrible event which took place in
    the history of USA.

2
Tragedy
  • On September 11, 2001 in USA a tragedy happened
which scared not only Americans but all the
humanity in the world. The life passed as usually
on that day . At 9 oclock on the sky a plane
appeared. Suddenly it crashed into the tower of
the World Trade Center which was 110 floored.

3
Horror
  • All the passers-by and clerks of that building
were in shock. Everyone tried to survive. No one
could understand what was happening. Some people
who were in the top floor of the building even
threw themselves out of the windows because of
tranquility. Many people were saved by firemen,
but it was impossible to save all of them .

4
Second Horror
  • A few minutes later the second plane has
plunged into the Western part of World Trade
Center which was not far from the first building.
Now everybody understood that, that was not an
ordinary accident. It was too much suffers for
Americans. The second terrible show started.
The struggle for life began. It looked like a
    Hollywood movie.

5
NO HOPE
  • After some times both of the towers fell down
one by one. Everything was covered with the black
smoke. There was no hope to save the people who
    were in the building.

6
Sorrow
  • More than 6000 people died on that day. Many
people remained under the towers ruins. It was
difficult to identify them. A lot of people lost
their relatives. Many children became orphans.
The President of USA declared three days
    nationwide mourning.

7
Unbelievable
  • It was found out that act was done by
terrorists. It was unbelievable that those
terrorists had taken pilot education in American
colleges. All of them died at the time they
    crashed into the towers.

8
Forget them not
  • It is the problem of restoring those
skyscrapers. The dead people will never come back
to life. We should always remember the history
    lessons.
  • We interviewed our homeboy Botir Karimov via
messenger. Botir was in USA on those terrible
    days.

Our interview
  • angil_okilova When were you in USA?
  • botir84 In August 2001 through June 2002, I
was in USA as an Exchange Student through the
Bureau of Education Cultural Affairs (ECA), US
Department of State, funded under the FSA/FLEX
    program
  • angil_okilova What State did you live in?
  • botir84 I lived in a warm state Mississippi.
  • angil_okilova When did you hear about September
    Tragedy?
  • botir84 I was in the US history class, when
teacher told us about this horrible tragedy
    -9/11.

11
Our interview
  • angil_okilova Didn't you want to return back to
    Homeland?
  • botir84 Yes, I wanted to return to Tajikistan
immediately. But for my luck my local
coordinator, organized urgent meeting with other
exchange students and calmed us down explaining
that it is safe to stay home not to travel. My
host parents talked with me and showed their
care, and readiness that they would be with me
and protect me in case of need
  • angil_okilova Was it dangerous in your city?
  • botir84 Yes, any place could be under attack,
for a week nobody was sure weather attacks were
    over or not.

12
Our interview
  • angil_okilova Didn't Americans change their
attitude to you after that crash?
  • botir84 Nobody acted negatively for me. Attacked
resulted many discussions about people's attitude
in school and mosques, every night my family
talked with me. All the people become closer to
each other, supporting and uniting. There was a
logo saying "united we stand". So attitude did
changed - it was not good or bad it was just
    different.
  • angil_okilova Didn't you fell yourself lonely?
  • botir84 Absolutely not
  • angil_okilova Whom did you trust?

13
Interview
  • botir84 I trusted my host family, American
friends and other exchange student experiencing
same horror as I had. My own family showed big
moral support keeping in touch via email and
    calling me.
  • So you see now that people hate not the nation,
they are against terrorism which has no nation.
The terrorists bring sufferings to all the people
of the world. We can overcome them only by
    uniting!
  • United We Stand
