GENERAL DESCRIPTION
  • This course is an interdisciplinary study
    integrating life sciences with economics,
    politics, engineering, and ethics. Ecological
    concepts are used throughout the course to
    identify and understand contemporary
    environmental issues.

EXPECTATIONS
  • Students will be expected to analyze
    environmental dilemmas to evaluate the associated
    risks and to formulate possible solutions.
  • Students will be expected to develop and defend
    informed views on these topics. Traditional
    teaching methods will be supplemented with
    debates, laboratories, research and independent
    community work.

CASSROOM RULES
  • Three simple classroom rules
  • Be respectful
  • Be prepared
  • Be mature
  • ATTENDANCE Be always on time.
  • TARDIES 10 minutes of tolerance (3 tardies 1
    absence).
  • JUSTIFIED ABSENCE Send the homework on the due
    date. Make-up tests quizzes will be discussed
    with the teacher.
  • Extracurricular absences must be approved by the
    HS office.

PROCEDURES
  • Classroom procedures.
  • Get to class in an orderly manner and ready to
    work have all your materials ready (notebook,
    textbook, homework and anything else you might
    need).
  • NO FOOD.
  • TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONE.
  • TURN OFF ANY OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICE (except for
    any pacemaker).
  • DO NOT DO HOMEWORK of ANY OTHER CLASS.
  • CHEATING rules from the ASFG handbook will be
    reinforced.

  • Be always on time and with your material ready
    (notebook, book, homework, etc.).
  • Study daily lessons in advance.
  • Write the class agenda in your notebook (date,
    topic, objective, activities and homework).
  • Note taking during class.
  • Be proactive.
