Title: Darren And Pam
1Darren And Pam Make Candy Canes
2The Sugar has been boiled to just the right
temperature. Now the mixture is turned out on a
stainless steel slab. A small amount of the
mixture has been separated so it can be colored
red.
3Darren is adding the red coloring and mixing it
well.
4Now the mixture is hung on a large hook and
pulled. It is still very hot so Darren has to
wear gloves.
5Darren pulls it and pulls it. It starts to change
color, going from a yellowish color to a white
color.
6Pam adds the Peppermint flavor while Darren
continues to pull.
7Now it is good and white and the peppermint is
well mixed.
8In the meantime, the smaller piece of red has to
keep warm (by the hot elements) so it wont get
too cool and hard to work with.
9Now it is time to work with the white piece.
10Darren uses his huge scissors to cut a piece off
the red portion.
Then he lines it up with the rest of it.
11He lays a strip of red next to a strip of white
and then cuts them in half.
12Now he lays those two halves next to each other.
13He pulls and then cuts again.
14He lays all the strips together.
15And then adds them to the rest of the white
portion.
16This is a close-up of the mixture.
17The mixture is red and white striped now and is
pulled out to make a long thin line.
18It is measured against a stick that is just the
right size for a Candy Cane.
19. . . And cut.
20After cutting the pieces, Darren gives them to
Pam who rolls them out . . .
21. . . And shapes it in just the right way.
22Darren cuts some more . . .
23. . . and Pam rolls some more.
24They have to work very fast because the candy
must be cut and shaped while it is still warm.
25. . . For the taste test mmmmm.. Good!
26They are just about done.
27A Close-Up!
28There they are! How many can you count?
29P.S. They also make humbugs!
