•  Creating a new Council for Cheshire East
  Progress report

• Elections to Council on 1 May . Newspaper with
  results published and available
•  Shadow Council only until 1.04.09. Induction day
  and first meeting already held. Website available
  through MBC site

• All services will continue to be run by existing
  Councils until 1.04.09
•  
• Chairman and Leader appointed. Cabinet appointed
  with no roles yet allocated

• No planning powers yet, but regulations in
  September will bring some

• Structure has to be based upon original People
  and Places bid (by Chester City Council)

• Planning will lie within the Places Block under

  31.03.09. Existing MBC councillors will serve on

• Front line staff will transfer more impact on
  senior managers and back and support office staff
