14The Words of Our Teachers
Attitudes About College
- The kids who are going to college and university
will go to college and university and those who
are not going to do it are not going to do it.
15The Words of Our Teachers
Attitudes About College
- I think some kids choose to fall through the
cracks, but I think that it has not really been
the schools responsibility. We spend all this
time with kids that do not even try to help
themselves.
16The Words of Our Teachers
Attitudes About College
- Are you kidding? Its not even realistic. We
know not all these kids are going to college. It
would never happen.
17The Words of Our Teachers
Attitudes About College
- I think a lot of the problem of motivation is
with the teacher.
18The Words of Our Teachers
Attitudes About College
- Its a matter of figuring out how to reach
them.
19The Words of Our Teachers
Attitudes About College
- They can do it, even though a lot of them dont
know that they can do it.
20Implications for Schools
- What do teachers in your small school believe
about college? - Do students believe they can attend college?
- What needs to happen to change beliefs about
college?
