Title: The Book Of ACTS
1The Book Of ACTS
2Acts 423-24 On their release, Peter and John
went back to their own people and reported all
that the chief priests and elders had said to
them. When they heard this, they raised their
voices together in prayer to God. Sovereign
Lord, they said, you made the heaven and the
earth and the sea, and everything in them.
3I. To Be Christ Followers
- The Unity Of The Body.
- When they heard this, they raised their voices
together in prayer to God - Gal. 62 Carry each others burdens, and in
this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. - Gal. 514 The entire law is summed up in a
single command Love your neighbor as yourself.
4B. The Power of Prayer
- When they heard this, they raised their voices
together in prayer to God - Phillips Brooks wrote Do not pray for easy
lives, Pray to be stronger men and women. Do not
pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for
powers equal to your tasks. That is the way the
early Christians prayed, and that is the way
Gods people should pray today.
5C. The Sovereignty of God
- Sovereign Lord, they said, you made the heaven
and the earth and the sea, and everything in
them. - Acts 425-26 You spoke by the Holy Spirit
through the mouth of your servant, our father
David Why do the nations rage and the peoples
plot in vain? The kings of the earth take their
stand and the rulers gather together against the
Lord and against his Anointed One.
6Acts 427-28 Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate
met together with the Gentiles and the people of
Israel in this city to conspire against your holy
servant Jesus, whom you anointed. They did what
your power and will had decided beforehand should
happen.
7WE NEED TO LEARN TODAY!
- Were all in this together.
- Prayer is our life line.
- God is in control.
8Ps. 13916 All the days ordained for me were
written in your book before one of them came to
be.
9II. To Serve Christ
- Acts 429-30 Now, Lord, consider their threats
and enable your servants to speak your word with
great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and
perform miraculous signs and wonders through the
name of your holy servant Jesus.
10Acts 18 But you will receive power when the
Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my
witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and
Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
11A. We Are Called To Share
- enable your servants to speak your word with
great boldness. - Mark 1615 Go into all the world and preach the
good news to all creation. - Rom. 1014 How, then, can they call on the one
they have not believed in? And how can they
believe in the one of whom they have not heard?
And how can they hear without someone preaching
to them?
12B. We Are Called To Surrender
- Acts 431 After they prayed, the place where
they were meeting was shaken. And they were all
filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of
God boldly. -
- Luke 2242 Father, if you are willing, take
this cup from me yet not my will, but yours be
done.
13III. The Body Of Christ
- Acts 432 All the believers were one in heart
and mind. No one claimed that any of his
possessions was his own, but they shared
everything they had. - Acts 433 With great power the apostles
continued to testify to the resurrection of the
Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all.
14Acts 434-35 There were no needy persons among
them. For from time to time those who owned lands
or houses sold them, brought the money from the
sales and put it at the apostles feet, and it
was distributed to anyone as he had need.
