Environmentally Preferable Products (EPP)

• Environmentally preferable - products or services
  that have a lesser or reduced effect on human
  health and the environment when compared with
  competing products or services that serve the
  same purpose. The product or service comparison
  may consider raw materials acquisition,
  production, manufacturing, packaging,
  distribution, reuse, operation, maintenance, or
  disposal. (EO 13101, Section 201)
• May include products that meet the Green Seal
  guidelines but are not certified by that
  organization.
• EPP guidelines vary by customers own requirements
  for example EPAs paper and pen guidelines exceed
  CPG

Earth Friendly

• Corporate Express has incorporated an EPP, CPG
  and Green Seal (Certified) icon in our 2005
  Sourcebook and E-Commerce site. These are
  attached to all products identified by our
  suppliers. This was an enhancement for customers
  seeking Earth Friendly office products.
• We will start tracking all three categories in
  addition to our EarthSaver brand under one new
  comprehensive report and search feature called
  Earth Friendly.
