One Community Mission
  • The Rugby League One Community program unites
    players, officials, volunteers, supporters and
    corporate partners to harness the profile of, and
    passion for Rugby League and make a positive
    difference to peoples lives.
  • We will do this by
  • Showcasing the games already strong community
    involvement and
  • building further interaction between all
    levels of the game and the
  • community
  • Focusing on improving the lives of children and
    families who are in
  • need
  • Responding to community needs by building
    partnerships with key
  • stakeholders in the areas of health,
    education and social issues.

Monster Raffle
  • In 2007 the Rugby Leagues One Community
    program will launch a
  • Monster Raffle throughout all junior league
    clubs in Australia.
  • The aim is to strengthen ties between the NRL
    and junior rugby
  • league and annually raise up to 5 million
    for Grass Roots Clubs.
  • Each of the 1 162 junior league clubs in
    Australia will be given 500
  • 1000 tickets to sell, with the option of
    ordering more when needed.
  • The NRL will cover the cost of designing,
    printing and distributing
  • tickets and will source all prizes and
    permits.

Mechanics
  • Tickets posters distributed by QRL
  • Tickets sent with unique bank deposit slip to
    each club
  • Stubs and unused tickets sent to ARLD
  • Club banks money
  • Once audited a cheque is raised for the full
    amount deposited and sent
  • to the club
  • Provisional dates April to September

  • The Centenary of Rugby League celebrations in
    2008 will
  • Convey the values inherent in the game
  • Reaffirm Rugby Leagues position in Australian
    society

    of a common

  • Appropriately recognise those that have
    contributed to the
  • development of the sport over the last 100
    years
  • Showcase the achievements of the past while
    setting a platform for
  • the future
  • Provide tangible legacies for the future of the
    sport
  • Enable the game to reoccupy historical ground
    while building
  • strong brand equity

Centenary Committee
  • The Centenary Committee will determine the major
    dates and activities that form the calendar of
    events to celebrate the Centenary across the
    sport. All Clubs and/or Leagues will be asked to
    apply in writing to the Committee for the
    inclusion of Club and community based events into
    the overall Centenary program.
  • All approved events and activities will be
    included in the Centenary program and be granted
    access to use and display the official Centenary
    of Rugby League logo.

  • Friday 28th March 2008
  • Anniversary of the establishment of the
  • Queensland Rugby Association in 1908.
  • The QRL to host a VIP function in Brisbane to
    mark this important Centenary anniversary.
  • Scheduling of a Queensland NRL derby game in
    Queensland on the Friday night to coincide with
    this important anniversary. Incorporate the QRL
    book launch into these activities
  • Wednesday 21st May 2008
  • First State of Origin game in the 2008 series
  • The 2008 State of Origin series to commemorate a
    century of interstate Rugby League, with both
    teams wearing heritage jerseys representing three
    different eras 1908, 1980 and 2008.
  • Game two 11th June 2008
  • Game three 2nd July 2008

  • June/July 2008
  • Anniversary of the first interstate match between
    NSW and Queensland
  • A function to be held in Brisbane to mark the
    first game of interstate
  • Rugby League between Queensland and New South
    Wales, which
  • took place on 11th July 1908. Mix of invited
    guests and marketed
  • corporate hospitality.
  • ARL Development
  • Recognition of school and junior rugby league
    over the past century
  • Centenary logo on all playing jerseys from
    juniors to NRL in 2008
  • Volunteer recognition program to be considered
  • Development of a Centenary based educational
    resource to leave with
  • all schools highlighting the history of Rugby
    League and its role in
  • the development of Australian culture over
    the last 100 years.
