GOR is providing MDM to 5.98 lacs students of
class VI to VIII in non EBB from state budget.
For this purpose additional funds of Rs. 40 Cr.

5 Cooking Conversion Assistance
Cooking conversion assistance (Rs. Per students

student per day. - State Share Rs. 2.50 per student per day.
6MDM Menu
- MDM Special Menu - Meal according to local
demand and practice may be provided once a week. - Above menu is displayed on notice Board.
- Mid Day Meal is regularly provided.
- Food grains _at_ 100 gms for Primary Students and
150 gms for Upper Primary Students are used for
cooking.

9 Cooking System
10Management, Monitoring and Evaluation System
(A) Reporting System -
- Schools submits their reports to the nodal
school. - Nodal school submits all reports to Block
Education Officer. - Block Officers compiles the different reports and
conveys to district. - District compiles the information and submits to
Government. - All report are analyzed at Directorate.
- Comments on progress are sent to all districts
regularly. - Software developed for monitoring has been
launched. Some blocks and districts have started
online reporting.
(B) Inspection System -
- All District and Block Level Officers regularly
inspecting the programme. - Monthly Inspection Norms have been fixed for
these officers. - Secretary Incharge of the districts also inspects
the programme during their visit to the district. - All elected members are frequently inspecting the
programme. - Women and mothers of the students are also
checking the programme. - Short comings in inspection reports are taken due
care of. - Panchayats are also doing monitoring work of the
programme. - During year 2007-08, more than 1.20 lac visits
have been done by various officers.

(C) Monitoring System -
- Committees at all three levels have been formed.
- Block and District level committees are meeting
every month. - Agenda for meeting has been suggested by the
Directorate. - Minutes of district level meetings and MPRs are
analyzed regularly at State level. - Pr. Secretary monthly review the programme
monthly. - Chief Secretary Addl. Chief Secretary
frequently review the implementation of the
programme. - Honble CM also reviews the programme regularly.
(D) External Evaluation/Study -
- DIETs have been appointed as external evaluation
agency. - A private evaluation agency has also been
appointed as external evaluation agency. - Many private NGOs, UNICEF, CUTS etc., have
conducted independent evaluation of programme. - A team from Planning Commission (Jaipur office)
has also evaluated the programme in four
districts of Rajasthan as per direction of
Planning Commission, GOI.
12Micro Nutrients Supplementation
- State Medical Health Department has done
medical checkup of the students studying in Govt.
Schools. - Deficient students are given medical aid and
micro nutrients such as Vitamin A, iron folic
acid, multi vitamin, Deworming tablets etc. - Deficient student is provided micro nutrients for
100 days per year. - Efforts are being made to formulate participation
with Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition
(GAIN), UNICEF and Naandi for fortification of
meal contents. - Budgetory provision and beneficiaries details -
13- Transparency in MDM
- Following information is permanently displayed on
notice boards- - Weekly menu
- Honorarium payable to cooks
- Ingredients required for recipes
- Every person is allowed to check the expenditure
and other statements. - Important points for inspection circulated.
- Effective MIS developed.
- External evaluation agency earmarked (SIERT) for
independent external evaluation.

areas instead of drought affected areas only

- Permission to use MME funds even for IEC
activities and to allow more flexibility in inter
sectoral allocations. - Tax Exemption to MDM Trust
