2Basic Facts About TCID
- Reputation for Excellence31 years!
- 94 Schools and 197 recruiters attended in 2007
- Recruiters from Indiana and throughout the U. S.
- 497 Candidates registered to attend in 2007
- Due to the popularity of this event, attendance
at TCID 2008 is limited to December 2007, May
June 2008 graduating educators from the College
Career Center Consortium. Candidates must be
from the fields of teaching, school counseling or
school media.
3Preparation Before TCID
- Arrange to be available on 4/16
- Do Your Homework. Know the employers who will be
attending TCID and do some research. - Thoroughly complete online applications. Many of
the employers will expect you to have done this
prior to TCID.
4Your Educator Résumé
- Polish your résumé. If you work the fair
correctly, you will hand out as many as 30
résumés. Do not wait until the week of TCID to
have your résumé critiqued. - Contact your Career Services Office today!
5What should I wear?Most candidates wear a
business suit to TCID. Select your attire
carefully! Wear the best, most professional
attire you have available. Comfortable,
professional shoes are a must, since it can be a
long day.

8When you check-in at TCID, you will receive the
following materials
- Interview appointment card
- (For scheduling interviews)
- Employer Booklet Table Lay-Out
- (Listing all participating employers and
their contact info.) - Evaluation form
- (To help us improve TCID)
- Name Badge
- (Please return to your school representative
before you leave TCID)

- 930-940 am Break
- 940-1040 am Interviews
- 1040-1100 am Break
- 1100-Noon Interviews
- Noon-100pm Lunch Break
- 100-200 pm Interviews
- 200-220 pm Break
- 220-300 pm Interviews
- 300 pm Complete evaluation

- Students sit together, grouped by their
college/university in Hall B of the Conference
Center.
11Messages!
- The employers will have access to your
registration information prior to TCID.
Employers might specifically ask to meet with you.
- Watch the message boards! We will post
employer messages throughout the day. If
you have an employer message, you may
head to the front of the line during the Open
Networking time.

- lay-out map.
13Networking Session
- TCID begins with an Open Networking Session in
the Hendricks Power Exposition Hall adjacent to
the Conference Center. Distribute as many résumés
as possible. - Most interviews will take place in the weeks and
months following TCID. Dont be discouraged if
you dont fill your interview schedule! TCID
will pay-off for you after the fair!
14Where possible, recruiters are in alphabetical
order.Larger school systems may be out
ofalphabetical order since they require more
space.

- Offer a firm handshake
- Smile!
- Introduce yourself
- (Sample Hi. My name is Jane Smith and I will
graduate from DePauw with a degree in Secondary
English Education.)

time standing in one long line.

interview times. - During the interviews, you may network with
employers displaying this sign in the Exposition
Hall.
