The Call Of Christ (Part 3) The Call To
Service

Everyone who has ever been or will ever be born
has a calling upon them. That calling is from the
Lord Jesus Christ. There are 3 callings which the
Lord Jesus expects of us. The first is The Call
To Salvation, Then The Call To Stewardship, And
Finally The Call To Service. We have been looking
at these 3 callings.

• The first was The Call To Salvation
• Salvation takes a 2 fold calling
• Called to repentance by the Holy Spirit.
• Your call upon Jesus to acknowledge Him as Savior
  and Lord.
• Called to Repentance by the Holy Spirit.
• God calls us we dont look for Him (Jn.644).
• God calls everyone (Titus 211).
• Everyone is called but not everyone will be
  saved.
• Your Calling upon Jesus.
• Your calling on Him assures your salvation
  (Rom.1012).
• The process is simple (Rom.109).

• Last week was the The Call To Stewardship and
  it is
• Based On Divine Ownership
• Of a mans Soul (1 Cor.619-20).
• Of a mans Life (Rom.148-9).
• Of a mans Goods (Haggai 28 1 Cor.162
  Prov.39).
• Re-enforced By Redemption
• Divinely Purchased (1 Cor.620).
• Divinely Endowed (Lk.1912-13).

• Faithfulness Is Required
• A Primary Duty (Mat.633).
• A Basis of Honesty (1 Cor.42).
• A Call to Minister (1 Pet.410).
• A Call to Witness (Act.18).
• Accountability And Reward
• Fruit Expected (Mat.2134 Jn.158).
• Fulfillment Accounted (Lk.1915).
• Judgment seat of Christ (2 Cor.510).
• We will be held accountable not only for what
  weve done, but for what weve havent done.
• Faithfulness Rewarded (Mat.1627).

• The Third Call of Christ, which every Christian
  faces and which we will look at today, is The
  Call To Stewardship.
• THE TYPE OF SERVICE
• Service is not coming to church.
• Never called to warm a pew.
• Only one pew-warmer mentioned in scripture -
  Eutychus (Acts 207-10).

• THE TEST OF SERVICE
• Reveals quality of Love (Jn.1423).
• Reveals quality of Faith (Jam.218-20).
• Reveals quality of Profession (Mat.721 157-9).
  
• THE TASK OF SERVICE
• Its a Great Requirement (Luk.1248).
• It involves Great Trials (Act.2018-19
  Luk.101-3).
• It Results in Great Joy (Luk.1017).
