  construction, address quality and barcoding for
  mailers of flats that will result in the maximum
  number of pieces being processed on the FSS
  equipment.

Intelligent Mail barcode testing update
WG 113 Update

• IDEAlliance conducted tests with various
  permutations
• Apple-to-apple test difficult to achieve
• .125 min height with .028 clearance
• UFSM performed worse than expected but AFSM
  better
• UFSM software release expected Feb 2008
• Test moved to Merrifield to evaluate reduced
  clearance spec on MERLIN

• Will reflect printed text size (in inches) and
  point size equivalent
• 8 point font size equivalent may cause issues
• Paper labels
• May need to reduce number of lines
• Consider using a larger label
• Business titles typically use more address lines
• Periodicals need line for sponsored copies ABC
  requirement
