The Scaffolding System
  • Outlined in this presentation are the major
features and benefits of the PlusEight System.
  • PlusEight is
  • The Fastest
  • The ergonomic design of PlusEight, combined with
    the utilisation of well-balanced components,
    maximises operative productivity.
  • The Safest
  • PlusEight has been designed to enhance safety and
    minimise risk. Safety features include
  • Patented coupling method providing the strongest
    and most flexible connection.
  • Visible safety checks possible on all joints.
  • Provision of a double lattice guardrail.
  • The Most Versatile
  • No structure is impossible, irrespective of size
or shape. The unique PlusEight joint allows a
full 360 connection. Components, including beams
and cantilever brackets, can be mounted at any
    angle in each cup.

Safety Ergonomics

Safety
A visual safety inspection check is simple and
quick with the unique design of PlusEight. The
wedges will not loosen due to vibration, or
internal movements, unlike other scaffolds!
The joints unique design creates a flush finish
and eliminates dangerous gaps.
Optimum node point strength allows maximum loads.
17
Components are secured when the wedge is level
with horizontal tube.
The hooking of the joint prevents the unsecured
end from slipping out while erecting or
dismantling the scaffold.
Its easy to add or remove a transom within an
erected scaffold.
Making vertical joints is simple and safe with
the funnel shaped sleeve. The PlusEight
standards are joined with a sleeve joint. A
sleeve joint is stronger than the standard, a
spigot joint is weaker.
18
Guiding grooves provide a tight joint which is
insensitive to dirt.
The cup design enables the standard to be pulled
out of the transportation rack sleeve first.
The PlusEight deck will deflect when overloaded
providing a clear visual warning.
19
The deck lock can be seen from both above and
below. Helping to prevent wind uplift.
The PlusEight decks have an anti-slip tongue and
groove feature for safe temporary on site storage.
The decks can be stacked inside each other
reducing the storage/transportation space.
All components are secured with the PlusEight
joint, enabling quick and easy visual inspection.
20
Ergonomics
PlusEight has been designed with the safety for
both the user and erector in mind.
Ergonomical safety factors include
  • The PlusEight System is approximately half the
weight of a traditional steel tube and fittings
  • All joints are at the right working height
  • Each well balanced components has the center of
    gravity in the right place
  • No scaffold box spanner required

21
Versatility Adaptability
22
The patented coupling method allows a full 360
degree connection.
The 8 way system offers up-to eight components in
the same cup.
Components can be mounted and secured at any
chosen angle. The paradox is that this simplifies
building rectangular bays.
23
How Turner Access Ltd. using PlusEight made it
possible to build perhaps the world's highest
freestanding weather protection structure.
The problem ? The American observation tower at
Niagara Falls needed to be renovated and
extended. ? The work had to be completed
during the winter when tourism was at its
lowest. ? Weather conditions during the winter
are harsh. ? It was only possible to do the
work if the whole structure was covered and
protected. ? The weather protecting structure
could not be attached to the tower but had to
be standing free to allow the extensive
work to be carried out inside.
24
The Solution
Six-sided structure built with the PlusEight
Universal Scaffolding System. Each corner
provided an extremely stable and structurally
strong column due to the unique capabilities of
the system. The columns were connected with
parallel one-metre wide bays.
