2What is the Justin Sportsmedicine Team?
- Imagine a doctor who has thousands of patients
scattered throughout the country. - Now imagine that those patients careers and
livelihoods often depend upon the medical
treatment and advice they receive from that
doctor. - In rodeo, that doctor is the Justin
Sportsmedicine Team, and the patients are the
professional rodeo athletes. The Justin
Sportsmedicine Team is the official healthcare
provider of the PRCA.
3Often times, these athletes are treated in a
Justin Sportsmedicine Center, a fully equipped
mobile sports medicine facility that annually
travels thousands of miles to provide medical
care to professional cowboys and cowgirls.

Service Provider (Ambulance/Paramedics)
for the coverage of all in-arena incidents
that result in major injury. - Establishment of local primary and secondary
medical centers/hospitals to be used, and
designation of which facility is to be used for
each type of incident. - Organization of local physician specialists
to be on call during the rodeo.

- Arrangement of Medical Director or highest
qualified physician in the area to serve as
Rodeo Covering Physician or Medical Director. - Communication of patient/medical updates to
the rodeo committees Public Relations Director
for their release.

36- The Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund (JCCF) was
established in 1989 by the PRCA and Justin Boots. - JCCF is a non-profit organization which assists
pro rodeo participants and their families in the
event of catastrophic injury. - Since 1989, JCCF has provided more than 2.2
million in assistance to more than 300
individuals.
