  • To ensure a basic level of Best Practice
    techniques and cross sharing of information and
    expertise in market surveillance.

    practice in market surveillance activities

Main deliveries for WP 3
  • Identification of joint market surveillance
    projects to help identify together best practices
    in market surveillance.

  • Formulation of The Book Best Practice
    Techniques in Market Surveillance
  • Include risk assessment as a part of best
    practice (WP 4)
  • Identification of training needs and
    recommendations on how training programmes may be
    organized for market surveillance inspectors,
    including specific use of screening equipment
    needed.

  • Preparation of text in progresss-first draft Book
    completed by end August 2007 and discussed in WP
    3 meeting in Brussels

    Workshop.

    September. Revised doc. to be presented in this
    Workshop.

  • Presentation of market surveillance plans for
    2008 and initiate possible cross border market
    surveillance activities
  • Present the draft inventory of handbook in order
    to give comments to the inventory based on best
    practice and experience( possibly utilize the
    information in relation with market surveillance
    activities).
  • Presentation and and discussion of common
    training needs and best practices for market
    surveillance officers involved in various
    consumer product sectors in the UK
  • Presentation of ongoing market surveillance
    projects-coordination with EMARS WP 3.

How can we participate more . . .
  • 2008
  • Further coordination and sharing of experiences
    with the GPSD NETWORK and ADCO Groups, in
    particular, LVD-ADCO, TOY-ADCO and PPE-ADCO.
  • Through possible joint projects in 2008
  • Through cross-feedback/interaction at Member
    State level.
  • Active participation in improving the Draft
    Book.
  • Participate in workshop spring 2008.
  • Focus on training systems and give further input

  • Participation 2008
  • A high participation level in the Spring Workshop
    which will launch the first complete version
    of the Book.
  • Active feedback within stipulated time-frame so
    as to finalise the Book on time. Test draft Book
    on a national basis and give input to WP 3 from
    now until spring 2008.(Rewieving period)
  • Identify and perform possible joint market
    surveillance projects in order to test parts of
    draft Handbook and give feedback to WP 3.
  • Give input to the training strategy by end this
    year.
  • Contribute in developing training programmes.
  • Participation in Final Conference in Autumn 2008
    Launching of the Guide.
