Title: The Never Watch Alone Initiative
1The Never Watch Alone Initiative
A unique partnership between the National
Association of Disabled Supporters and the Wigan
Learning Disability Partnership Board
2MISSION STATEMENT
The Never Watch Alone Initiative (NWAI) will
enable supporters with a learning disability to
attend matches alongside their fellow supporters.
The aim of the project is to enable people with
learning disabilities to lead full, purposeful
and integrated lives in their local communities
and to develop a range of friendships, activities
and relationships. Â
3HOW IT WORKS?
Through a network of buddies, the Never Watch
Alone Initiative will enable those supporters
with a learning disability to go to games not
with a professional carer but a friend, a
like-minded fan who shares their passion as well
as the camaraderie and socialising before and
after the game.

7QUOTES FROM USERS
Anthony had only ever seen the team on TV before
this and without me as a buddy, he wouldnt be
able to go. I wouldnt go to the match without
him.
Watching Wigan play with all other fans is
great. I cant wait for the next home match
Its good fun when everyone is singing and
celebrating
Its just fantastic, I love being there
