This site was developed on May 4, 2000
2Late Thursday evening after his 6pm Info and
Telecom class, Anthony Villegas went home
exhausted as always. Upon getting home he changed
his suit and was having dinner with his family as
something struck him. He jumped up from his
seat, sending his plate flying across the room
and landing face down on his wifes favorite
dress. With a smile across his face as
everything finally came clear Prof. Villegas
shouted I want a bad ass, Red Ferrari!
Tossing and turning all night long, not being
able to sleep, he kept dreaming of that red
Ferrari. Early in the morning, Prof. Villegas
threw on a pair of ripped jeans and a red t-shirt
as he grabbed a muffin and sped out of his
driveway in search of his new found dream. Upon
arriving at the nearest Ferrari dealership,
Anthony Villegas ran up the stairs and swung the
heavy glass door open like a match. After staring
at the featured Ferrari on the showroom floor
gleaming under the bright lights Professor
Villegas drooled. After 2 hours, his senses came
to as he was ready to talk business. After
seeing such a show the nearest salesman closed in
on his prey as he thought Mr. Villegas was
trapped for good. Was he wrong!!! Having a
million and one questions for the salesman Prof.
Villegas fired away. Five minutes into the deal,
however, Prof. Villegas felt pressured to buy the
Ferrari at any cost. He was assured about the
vehicle, but what about insurance, maintenance,
and price. Pressured and not satisfied with the
sales mans answers, disappointed, Prof. Villegas
went to teach his class. And thats when a
brilliant idea hit him again. As a professor, he
remembered the kind of power he had over his
dedicated students (especially for a good
graade). After consulting his records, Professor
Villegas hired Group 1C Inc. to research,
analyze, and recommend an alternative way to
purchase his dream Ferrari without the pressure
from sales people but with an abundant source of
information. Hence Group 1C Inc.

13S-W-O-T ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS Autoweb.com employs highly
knowledgeable staff that utilizes
state-of-the-art technology. The companys HR
recruiters hire the most qualified individuals
who are extensively trained in the field to offer
superior services to all customers.
WEAKNESSES Existing in a fast pace, high
tech industry, Autoweb.com faces many
difficulties with ever-changing environment and
high inventory turnover (ie. Both hardware and
software). Such factors create great
expenditures and constant deadlines, which
require extensive spending of financial assets,
time and staff dedication. As with any other
Internet based company, Autoweb.com often faces
internal problems with their hardware and
software. Temporary failures in online servers
causes great delay for the customer, and as we
all know, Americans have gotten used to comfort
and are reluctant to wait. Not being able to
solve a problem at hand within minutes may set
Autoweb.com far enough to loose their lead in the
market.

14- OPPORTUNITIES At the present rate of
continuous customer satisfaction, the Internet
business is booming. Being a market leader in
the field of online automotive transactions,
Autoweb.com has a great advantage and infinite
capabilities to further enhance their services,
in turn maximizing their profits. In addition,
more and more Americans are buying computers and
signing up for Internet service every day,
thereby exposing themselves to companies such as
Autoweb.com that offer infinite opportunities for
greater ease and accessibility to information and
services. - THREATS Nevertheless, being in this booming
Internet market environment, with increasing ease
of entry, there are great opportunities for a dot
com to enter the market, offering superior
service to that currently provided by Autoweb.com
and take over the market share. Therefore, the
competitiveness of the Internet market poses a
threat to Autoweb.com, forcing it to continuously
enhance innovative ideas for the consumers. In
addition, even at the explosive rates of Internet
usage many Americans are still without Internet
access. Since Autoweb.com is an Internet based
company its patronage is limited to those
individuals with access to the Internet.
