2I. Watch out for the Big Head
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to
every man that is among you, not to think of
himself more highly than he ought to think but
to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to
every man the measure of faith. Rom. 123

Paul did not have the big head because of what he

4Pride causes problems
Only by pride cometh contention but with the
well advised is wisdom. Prov. 1310 Herod

Pride will bring us down !
5II. Church is to be Unified
Rom.124-5 For as we have many members in one
body, and all members have not the same office
5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and
every one members one of another.

- Christians members of body
- A difference in our abilities
- v. 4 not the same office
- v. 6 having then gifts differing
7Unity Harmony
- No room for jealousy / backbiting

- Not one member, but many
- All parts co-operate
- Not a church boss
- All parts are valuable

9Prophecy according to the Proportion of faith
These were the teachers Not to go beyond and tell
more than was revealed Must teach only what is
revealed
10Let us wait on our ministering
- Practical service for others
- Law of kingdom
- Not use thyself for thyself
- Not use others for thyself
- But use thyself for others
11He who teaches in teaching
Not all have the ability to teach Those who have
it must use it Be the best Bible class teacher
that you can be
12He who exhorts, in exhortation
Appeal to the heart and conscience Barnabas was
good at this Many have this ability
13He who gives, with liberality
Some have ability to make money Opportunity to
show liberality Not for show or seeking glory for
self
14He who leads, with diligence
Elders Deacons Fathers
15He who shows mercy, with Cheerfulness
Caring for the sick and needy Do it with joy Do
it with happiness

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is
evil. Cling to what is good. Rom. 129 not
pretended love Hate the evil, and love the
good Amos 515a
17Be kindly affectionate to one another with
brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one
another Rom. 1210 We belong to the same
family Brotherly love John 1335
18Not slothful in business fervent in spirit
serving the Lord Rom.1211
- Slothful lazy, half hearted
- Fervent diligent, put whole self into work
- Serving the Lord -
19Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with
thy might for there is no work, nor device, nor
knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou
goest. Eccl.910
20God can use all of us. There is work for all of
us to do. Whatever you are qualified to do, do it
with diligence and haste.
