Summing It All Up
2
  • 1 John 215-17
  • Do not love the world or the things in the world.
If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father
    is not in him.
  • For all that is in the world, the lust of the
flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful
pride of life, is not from the Father, but is
    from the world.
  • The world is passing away, and also its lusts
but the one who does the will of God lives
    forever.

Not ALL Dancing Is Wrong
  • The Bible contains examples of dance when
    rejoicing before God.
  • Miriam prophetesses danced after deliverance
    from Egypt (Ex. 1520)
  • David danced with all his might when he brought
the ark back to Jerusalem (2 Sam. 614
  • There was dancing when the Prodigal Son returned
    (Luke 1525)

6
Not ALL Dancing Is Wrong
  • This dancing cannot be compared with modern
    dancing.
  • always performed by self or with people of the

10
Why Do You Want To Dance?
  • DANCING HAS NO SEXUAL CONNOTATION FOR ME
  • Then why dont boys dance with boys?
  • Dancing is lust-oriented and we are to abstain
from fleshly lusts. 1 Pet. 211
  • Will you cause a weaker brother to fall? Rom.
    1415

11
Why Do You Want To Dance?
  • DANCING IS FUN
  • A lot of sins are fun.
  • Heb. 1125 Moses resisted the temporary
    pleasures of sin.

12
Why Do You Want To Dance?
  • BOYS WILL HAVE THOSE THOUGHTS ANYWAY.
  • Maybe so, but you dont throw matches at dynamite
just because it will explode anyway.

13
Why Do You Want To Dance?
  • CHAPERONES WILL BE THERE.
  • Then that makes it chaperoned sin.
  • Chaperones cannot control your thoughts.

14
Why Do You Want To Dance?
  • I WONT FIT IN IF I DONT GO EVERYONE ELSE IS
    DOING IT.
  • Matt. 713 being one of the crowd takes you
    through the wrong gate.
  • Matt. 516 A Christian must stand out from the
    crowd, not blend in.

15
Why Do You Want To Dance?
  • ILL BE RIDICULED IF I DONT GO.
  • Matt. 512 Yes, you probably will.
  • 1 Pet. 416 we will suffer sometimes as a
    Christian.

16
Why Do You Want To Dance?
  • ILL JUST GO AND WATCH.
  • The Prom is associated with much that is evil
drinking, drug abuse, evil companions, lowering
of morals, doorway to fondling, can culminate in
fornication. We should avoid anything so closely
    associated with evil (Mt. 715-20 1Cor. 1533
    1Th. 522).
  • If its wrong to dance, why would it be OK to
    watch it?

17
Why Do You Want To Dance?
  • THE BIBLE DOESNT SAY NOT DANCE.
  • Gal. 519 In reality, it does.

18
Why Do You Want To Dance?
  • BECAUSE I WANT TO, NO MATTER WHAT GOD SAYS.
  • This is the only reason to go to the dance.

19
Have You Obeyed The Gospel?
Hear The Word (Rom. 1017) Believe That Jesus
is the Son of God (Acts 837) Repent of Your
Sins (Acts 238) Confess That Jesus is the Son
of God (Acts 837) Be Baptized for Forgiveness
of Sins (Acts 238) Live Faithfully Until You
