• - He was instrumental in our move from UTK to
  NCSU in
• 1981.Others too Moody Chu, Ralph Byers,
  Bob Funderlic,
• Ilse Ipsen, Nancy Nichols, Steve Wright,
• - We co-authored a paper on iterative methods in
  1977, and
• had some joint NSF projects in the
  1980s.
• - Carl works carefully and at his own pace. His
  recent
• SIAM text was reportedly written over 20
  years
• and involved several publishers.
