• Inside this metaphor of the vineyard, Jesus
  introduces a picture to us to understand our role
  in bearing fruit for God.
• Jesus is the true VINE.
• The Father is the VINE DRESSER
• We are the BRANCHES
• It is important for us to know the roles of
  everyone involved

The Role of the Vine

• John 152 I am the TRUE VINE.
• He is the trunk of the plant that grows out of
  the ground.
• (v5) without me, ye can do nothing
• Notice how many times the phrase In Me is used
  between verses 1-7
• Jesus is our connection between us and the
  Father, it is in Him we live and move and have
  our being (Acts 1728)
• Jesus is our LIFELINE.

The Role of the Vine Dresser

• The Vine dresser is the keeper of the vineyard.
  He is either the owner or the one responsible to
  take care of it. When he sees the vine traveling
  toward the dirt he
• Goes through the vineyard with a bucket of water
  to wash them off
• Lifts them up, cleans them off
• Wraps them around a trellis.
• He will use chastening and discipline to hold
  you to His standards of living so you can bear
  fruit.

Understanding Airo

• John 152 Every branch in me that does not bear
  fruit, He takes away.
• Take away (Airos) does not mean, cut of or
  remove. It means take up or lift up.
• Matthew 1420 They took up twelve baskets
• John 129 who takes away the sins of the
  world
• THANK FULLY God does not throw us away or remove
  us, but He lifts us up, washes us and ties us to
  His Trellis, called the church

We Are the BRANCHES

• The branches produce fruit. They are tied to a
  trellis to provide maximum exposure to the Sun
  and rain. WHY? Because new branches have a
  tendency to trail down and try to grow along the
  ground. But they cant grow down there. When
  branches grow along the ground, they get coated
  with dirt. When it rains, they get muddy and
  mildewed. The branch becomes sick and useless.

The Purpose of Fruit Bearing

• Matthew 1233 (MSG) If you grow a healthy tree,
  you'll pick healthy fruit. If you grow a diseased
  tree, you'll pick worm-eaten fruit. The fruit
  tells you about the tree.
• (Amplified Bible) Either make the tree sound
  (healthy and good), and its fruit sound (healthy
  and good), or make the tree rotten (diseased and
  bad), and its fruit rotten (diseased and bad)
  for the tree is known and recognized and judged
  by its fruit

What is FRUIT?

• A manifestation of the tree or vine.
• Karpos A work, act or deed that comes as a
  result of something
• Scriptural References (Ephesians 59-11,
  Galatians 419, Matthew 715-20)
• In practical terms fruit represents good works
  a thought, attitude or action that glorifies God.
  The fruit from your life is how receives His due
  honor on the earth. (Psalm 13)

The Secret of Fruit Bearing is in Abiding (John
154, 7)

• The more you abide IN HIM, the more fruit you
  will bear (manifest)
• Abide (Gk) Meno to remain as one, not to become
  another or different, connected indwelling
• The REAL YOU, is who you are in private!
• In order for there to be some growth, there must
  be a purging process (rebuking, chastening,
  scourge)
• See II Peter 19 and Deu. 82

The Secret of Fruit Bearing is in Abiding (John

• Psalms 13 The abiding has to do with your
  feeding place, your source of supply
• Genesis Principle Every living organism has to
  be fed! Feeding on junk food will make you sick
  physically, just as feeding on secular influences
  will make you mal-nourished spiritually.

Our Year of Manifestation

• This is our year to prove, show, manifest or bear
  fruit of the realities in our lives, our families
  and our church.
• Jesus is our example in Acts 13
• Paul admonishes Timothy (II Tim 45) Watch,
  endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist,
  and make full proof of thy ministry
