PREFIX

• A prefix is a word part added to the beginning of
  a root word or a root to change its meaning.

SUFFIX

• A suffix is a word part added to the end of a
  root word or a root to change the meaning.

ROOT

• A root is the basic part of a word that gives the
  word its meaning.

Vocabulary

• Your vocabulary will greatly increase if you know
  about the structure of words and how they are
  formed. The main part of a word is called the
  root ( for example, write). We can add prefixes
  to the beginning (rewrite), and suffixes to the
  end (writer).
• If you know common roots, prefixes, and suffixes,
  you will increase your vocabulary.
