23Once in orbit, we must open the Payload
Bay Doors. This happens in the first hour or the
shuttle must return to Earth. Why? The
Radiators are located within the PLB. If doors
do not open with the computer, there is a
manual crank in the PLB that can be employed by
a suited astronaut, but this is very dangerous.

maneuvering system fires to slow the orbiter down

shuttle to entry attitude -- nose first, angled

at 121,920 meters (400,000 feet).
