Title: Summit

1
Summit 2008
2
  • Gulf Coast Energy, Inc. was awarded a Florida
Farm to Fuel Grant in 2007.
  • Thank you to
  • State of Florida
  • Farm to Fuel Program
  • Commissioner Bronson

3
Phase I operations
  • Gulf Coast Energy, Inc. will construct and
operate a 20 million gallon per year (mmgpy)
nameplate capacity ethanol plant in tandem with a
    20 mmgpy bio-synthetic diesel plant and a 5 mmgpy
    of other bio-fuels.
  • The plant will be located in Northwest Florida
Pan handle in an Enterprise Zone.
  • Phase I will provide approximately 60 direct jobs
    and many more indirect.

4
Phase I operations
  • GCE will utilize cellulosic process technology
that will enable the company to maintain low raw
material costs that do not utilize food crops.
    GCEs process is biomass Gasification/Fischer-Trop
sch (GFT) and it will be employed for all product
    streams.

5
GCE Process - GFT
  • The GFT process will be employed for all product
stream and we have designed each unit to be able
to produce any product (through a change out of
catalyst). This will allow GCE to respond easily
    to market demands.
  • The planned configuration for Phase I can easily
be reconfigured to produce any spectrum of fuels
from wood waste, including the 3 fuels planned
for Phase I, or any combination of
    bio-gasoline/bio-diesel/ethanol.

GCE Process - GFT
  • The GFT can also use a variety of feedstocks,
depending on availability and economics. GCE has
processed over 20 potential feedstocks in our
pilot plant with great success. So, this lends
to a great number of possible configurations for
    the facility.

7
GCE Process - GFT
  • GCE has successfully processed many feedstocks in
    our demonstration plant, including switchgrass,
yard waste, tires, corn stover and many species
    of wood waste.

8
GCE Process - GFT
  • GCEs process has no designed vents, and the only
emissions are fugitive emissions from pumps,
    valves, and the like.

9
GCE Process - GFT
  • GCE is in negotiation with several municipalities
to receive their yard waste, that is currently
being land-filled. We will use it to manufacture
fuel to power the municipalitys vehicles.

  • GCEs Demonstration Plant is in operation at the
    headquarters in Livingston, Alabama

Phase I Operations
  • The project is estimated to cost approximately
90 million - including the Florida Farm to Fuel
Grant that we received last year. This
represents over 90 cost share by GCE.
  • The facility will use about 300,000 green tons of
Florida Biomass feedstock (initially wood waste)
for annual nameplate capacity 45 million gallons
of ethanol, biosynthetic diesel and other
    bio-fuels.
  • There are off-take agreements in place to sell
100 of our production in Phase I, and an
agreement in principle for Phase II as well.

14
Phase II operations
  • In phase II GCE will expand to between 70 and 100
mmgpy of production after the first few years of
Phase I production, depending on feedstock
    availability.
  • Again this specific make-up of the spectrum of
fuels will be driven by market demands.
  • After phase II expansion, the facility will use
in excess of 500,000 green tons of Florida
    biomass feedstock annually.

GCE future operations
  • Florida is an extremely important part of Gulf
Coast Energys business model, with several
future sites already on our radar. With the
State of Florida being the largest producer of
biomass in the country, it is a natural.
