3
  • Why we did it?
  • The EORI needed an efficient method of assessing
its performance, in order to identify areas for
    improvement.
  • In-house market research expertise (me).
  • In a past life I was Research Manager-Europe for
    a German market research company.
  • Surveyed gt200,000 people,
  • Availability of an on-line survey tool.

4
  • Survey description
  • Difficulties associated with this being the first
    time acceptance, response.
  • No demographic questions
  • Short, single page, 3 matrix questions, 2 open
    response fields.
  • Themes 1) General performance, 2) Quality of the
CO2 meeting, 3) Actions of the Institute
  • Single email shot to all registered participants
at the CO2 meeting in Casper, and all registered
recipients of the Newsletter (415 addresses).

5
  • Results
  • 100 responses (24 response rate an acceptable
    response rate is typically 10).
  • This is a minimum response rate as their were
    duplicates in the mail shot)
  • Completion rate (99 !!)

6
  • General Performance

  • EORI Activities cont.

12
  • Open Responses (CO2 Meeting)
  • Nametags with larger font, excessive breaks, poor
    facilities
  • Otherwise generally good
  • Every detail seemed to be taken care of, very
    well put together conference.
  • The conference was very informative and an
excellent opportunity network. However, some of
the breaks were a bit too long.
  • one of the most informative conferences I have
    attended.
  • I do think there were extra long breaks. Had
trouble seeing some of the details on the
    presentations. Overall, excellent agenda and
    presentations.

13
  • Open Responses (EORI Activities)
  • Scheduling of meetings (midweek) vendors
address the interaction between CCS EOR
involve more federal, state, and local agencies
a database of operators and their CO2-EOR
    potential other EOR techniques.
  • Please help educate operators and producers on
the issues regarding Carbon Capture and
Sequestration vs. Enhanced Oil Recovery via CO2
    flooding.
  • EORI should limit its consulting for pay
    activities.
  • heavy oil.
  • I think you can focus on surfactant induced
recovery process as well as some unconventional
    recovery process like microbial EOR..

14
  • Future Surveys.
  • Need to avoid survey fatigue (1 every 6 months
    MAXIMUM).
  • More focused and detailed surveys now that we
    know the acceptance level.

15
  • Conclusions.
  • Survey was a success.
  • We learned how we are perceived by the industry.
  • We learned how future surveys should perform.
