Purpose
  • To identify and establish an action plan so that
    all search and rescue agencies are able to
    interact effectively and efficiently in
    responding to SAR incidents.

Interoperability IssuesCommunications
  • Inefficient air-ground/air-marine/ JRCC-EMO/
    RCMP/ GSAR radio communications
  • Delays caused by automated telephone systems
  • Lack of automatic JRCC access to caller ID
    information (available to 911 operators)
  • Incompatible radio equipment

  • Need for standard basket stretcher and hoist
    rigging system
  • Non-standard Lat/Long data across Canadian Forces
    or Ground SAR GPS units
  • Insufficient communications between JRCC and
    Marine Rescue Sub Centres
  • Inconsistent casualty protocols
  • Delays by police or 911 in dispatching SAR
    resources
  • Need for better understanding of JRCCs role

    begins now!

    solutions (questions after each speaker)

    interact
