Project Overview

• Allow apartment residents to remotely manage
  exterior door access
• Web-based user interface
• Remote camera
• Remote control of door lock
• Keypad code entry
• Software features
• System activity logging
• Keypad code configuration

Hardware Aspects

• Hardware will be interfaced with FPGA
• Door lock linear solenoid mechanism
• Remote camera CMOS image sensor
• Keypad hexadecimal keypad
• Additional electronics
• Linear solenoid will require additional circuit
  to provide necessary voltage and current levels

Software Aspects

• Control software will run on StrongARM
• Web-based UI will use Active Server Pages (ASP)
• Algorithm will convert raw image data from camera
  into web-viewable format (JPEG?)
• Persistent storage aspects (user accounts, keypad
  codes, activity logs) will be handled using the
  native Windows CE database
