  • Pigsback.com (founded in June 2000)
  • Business Model
  • - Empathy marketing e-commerce site
  • - Earns revenue from Advertising
  • E-hanced services piggypoints!
  • - members can collect piggypoints by looking at
    special deals advertised and then use these
    points to purchase items.
  • - Pigsback.com is Irelands stickiest website
    as reported by Neilsens Net Rating, this
    basically means that more time is spent on
    Pigsback than any other Irish site (26 minutes
    per month).

  • After the first week, pigsback.com signed up over
    2000 members
  • Within a month it had approx 15,000 members
  • After 5 months the total was 50,000 and was
    steadily growing.
  • It targeted to double its members in the second
    year, which it did, bringing the grand total
    145,000 in July 2002

  • Operates under set principles, which is a form of
    Permission Based Marketing.
  • For example, everything that pigsback.com does is
    permission based and must be relevant to the
    member.
  • Also, the offers must have an exclusive edge.

What does Pigsback.com offer?
  • The deals pigsback.com offers are totally
    exclusive to its members, so encouraging them to
    return.
  • A new member fills in a list of interest, and any
    deals offered are relevant to these.
  • So it is highly targeted, and also the member has
    full control over what he receives.
  • A member can find out about deals by going to the
    site, choosing to receive e-mails, or even
    choosing to receive SMS. He/she must specifically
    ask to receive these.
